Dr. Joseph Ritchie is honored to serve on the PALTOWN Board of Directors. Unfortunately, he found this community because of his wife’s CRC diagnosis. COLONTOWN and the people involved with it have been a great resource for he and his wife Laurie. He hopes to be an asset to this wonderful organization.

Dr. Ritchie had a distinguished career as an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and Total Joint Replacement. He has been chosen as a Top Doctor in Missouri Magazine and given the “#1 Distinction Award” by Healthgrades. He was the Team Physician for numerous universities and high schools, including St. Louis University and Kirkwood High School in Missouri. His service and expertise led to his induction into the Missouri Athletic Trainers’ Sports Medicine Hall of Fame and the Kirkwood High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He founded the first wholly owned physician surgery center in St. Louis, enabling cost savings as well as flexibility in healthcare delivery for patients. Prior to his practice in St. Louis, Dr. Ritchie served his country as an Orthopedic Surgeon at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, where he was Chief of Sports Medicine as well as a consultant to the Air Force National Sports Teams.

Since retiring from clinical medicine, Dr. Ritchie has devoted time to other pursuits and passions. Some of these activities have included publishing an international best selling fiction novel, teaching in his Church, traveling, and spending more time with friends and family.
