PALTOWN CEO Erika Brown has been elected to the National Cancer Institute’s Colon and Rectal Cancer Task Force. The Task Force develops recommendations for priorities for publicly-funded clinical research, as part of the National Cancer Institute’s Gastrointestinal Steering Committee. The work of the Task Force and the Steering Committee provides critical input to the National Cancer Institute, the largest funder of cancer research in the world.
Erika and I recently attended the 2017 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) meeting in Chicago, aided in part by a patient advocate scholarship offered by ASCO and its Conquer Cancer Foundation.
ASCO is the largest gathering of cancer researchers and clinicians in the world, and it attracts a considerable number of advocates, patients, drug and device companies — anyone and everyone in “cancer land.” … Read more
