Carol Zhou
Carol was an exceptional wife and mother who gave tirelessly and endlessly to her family. Carol derived the most joy in nurturing her family: taking the whole family to the gyms, to the mountains, helping kids to settle down in new cities where they started school / work, etc. Her children, Katherine and Derek, who scarcely remember Carol uttering a harsh word to them in their life, will cherish their relationship with her forever.

Carol led a fulfilling career as a data scientist. She was also a respected mentor and was proud to have advocated for numerous young analysts throughout her career.
Carol was passionate about exercise and travel. Before her diagnosis, Carol could be seen hiking Crowders Mountain on the weekends or running in the annual Charlotte Turkey Trot. She had enjoyed recent trips to India, Spain, and Turkey; a college thirty-year reunion trip to Shanghai; and tours of Peru, Sweden, and Poland with her children.
Please consider giving to PALTOWN, the nonprofit organization that supports COLONTOWN, an online community of empowered colorectal cancer patients and caregivers.
The family asks that donations be made in Carol’s honor so the patients and caregivers of the community can continue their important work. Thank you for giving.
