PALTOWN manages the COLONTOWN colorectal cancer community, a network of 100 online groups serving thousands of patients and caregivers.
COLONTOWN provides safe, private spaces for conversations around everything from managing side effects to parenting to accessing cutting edge treatments.
Each group is led by trained admins with relevant lived experience.
Members can belong to as many groups as fit their needs, and know that if their disease situation changes, COLONTOWN has a group to help.
COLONTOWN's New Home
August 1, 2025: PALTOWN has launched a private website and branded app for COLONTOWN members.
In addition to our 100+ neighborhoods, the new space integrates the wealth of events, educational resources and programs PALTOWN offers members into the conversations that form the core of COLONTOWN.

COLONTOWN’s unique value proposition – that every member can “find their people” – begins when our onboarding team contacts each prospective new member.
The personal introduction that greets each new member builds trust, creates connections, and reduces anxiety at what is often an intensely stressful time.

Through the work of our patient and caregiver staff and volunteers, COLONTOWN continues to grow in size and in impact without losing the characteristics that have made it unique in the landscape of disease support services.
As we have heard from so many CRC clinicians, and seen from the interactions daily in COLONTOWN, our patients and caregivers become empowered students of their disease and active participants in their own care and treatment journeys.
Conference Reporting
COLONTOWN’s Conference Reporting Program mobilizes trained patient and caregiver volunteers to attend medical and scientific conferences and report back on research that matters most to people living with colorectal cancer. Whether attending in person or virtually, our members sit in on key sessions, track emerging data, and translate complex findings into clear, accessible updates for the community.
This patient-driven approach goes beyond top-line headlines. Our reporters focus on trial results, subgroup-specific insights, and supportive care strategies that may influence real-world decision-making—often surfacing important takeaways earlier than they appear in routine clinical conversations.
By dispatching members directly into research spaces, the Conference Reporting Program helps ensure patients and caregivers have timely, actionable information and a stronger voice in understanding the science shaping their care.
